When we are very young before learn to talk we are bonded to our mother in such a way that we feel things that our mother feels in a telepathic way. Small children are very intuitive. Children know when their mother is happy and they feel it. “When mother is upset so are we” That’s how children begin to learn about life.
Later on, we are informed about concepts and ideas about life from our parents. Not only are we instructed but also we observe the way our parents behave. These observations give us our footing of how the world around us is and how things work. These concepts about life form our earliest beliefs. Whatever we come to believe usually, before we are six years old, becomes our truth. Later in our life when presented with concepts that disagree with our beliefs, beliefs we learned before we were six (beliefs we learned before we were six) we disregard them.
The problem is, we are at our core spiritual beings and we create the circumstances of our world with our thoughts. Our thoughts are molded by our beliefs and our beliefs delineate the boundaries of our world.
As we continue to create our world, our world conforms to our beliefs and anything that disagrees with our beliefs we disregard.
If something bad happens in our life and we start to believe that the world is a bad place, our world will conform to that belief and unpleasant events will transpire.
Then if someone tries to give us a different perspective on life or represents our world in a different way, we presume they are wrong, because our world is awful.
But what if the concepts and beliefs passed on to us by our parents, are only the beliefs and concepts passed on to them by their parents, and are not necessarily true? When we are very young we believe our parents are very wise and know everything. What do we really question before we are six years old?
Who are you? Are you your father? Are you your mother? Are your parents still living within you , talking through you. The reactions that you have to any circumstance, are the responses you give because of the beliefs that you hold. The very beliefs have been passed on to you by your parents.
It is difficult to accept different concepts and ideas that disagree with our view of our world, our life, our belief system, because it makes us question life, frightens us, and pulls away our support. Why should we believe anything different, anything that contradicts our way of thinking, what we believe to be true, how we know things to be?
Because there might be a better way to live our life, a more fulfilling, happier, easier way. Are you happy? Are your beliefs serving you well? Do you really understand the meaning of your life? Do you know where you are heading? Do you know why people do the things they do? Do you know why you do the things you do? Do you really know what is important to you? ARE YOUR BELIEFS SERVING YOU WELL?
I will continue this next week.
